Recreational Opportunities

Buena Vista, Virginia

Buena Vista is home to Glen Maury Park, a 315-acre camping/recreational park that includes several picnic shelters, tennis courts, an outdoor roller skating rink, nature trails, ball fields, an Olympic size swimming pool, a wading pool, river fishing, an 18-hole golf course (The Vista Links) and special events throughout the year.

The City is also the setting for numerous “Neighborhood Parks” located throughout the City. Local civic and social organizations, including schools, churches, the 4-H Club and volunteer community groups sponsor additional recreational opportunities and seasonal activities.

Buena Vista also provides the perfect setting for outdoor opportunities. Surrounding the City are portions of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests offering access to one of the largest areas of public land in the Eastern United States, including remote, undeveloped and wilderness areas. Both the James and Maury Rivers provide canoeing opportunities and if the great outdoors appeals to you, the City of Buena Vista can provide all the opportunities you could desire.
