Accounts Payable Clerk
The City of Buena Vista is accepting applications for a full time Accounts Payable Clerk to work in the City Finance Department. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing activities including reviewing and processing for payment all vendor invoices and check requisitions and maintaining the files/records of all payments. The Accounts Payable Clerk will also process payroll during the Payroll Administrator’s absence and perform other administrative duties in the Finance Department. The city desires computer systems experience and ability to work in a variety of software applications such as accounting systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
The applicant must have a high school diploma and an associate degree in accounting/business is preferred. Starting salary is $30,314 to $35,134 per year DOQ&E. Water Quality Operator
The City of Buena Vista is accepting applications for the position of “Water Quality Operator”. This position works under supervision and includes operating the wastewater plant and equipment used to collect, treat, and dispose of domestic and industrial sewage efficiently in accordance with regulatory requirements and monitoring operations to determine treatment plant efficiency and quality. Requires lifting, performing routine semi-skilled and technical work. Position requires on-call, weekends and holiday work as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A Class III or II Wastewater license issued by the state of Virginia is desired. A valid VA driver’s license is required. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Excel/Word is desired. Individual hired is required to obtain a Class II license within 6 months of obtaining required hours of experience to sit for Class II exam. Salary DOQ.
