Public Transit: The Maury Express provides public transit service for Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County and operates Monday thru Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm. Fare is 50 cents and must be paid when boarding the van. Exact change is required. Children under six years of age ride at no charge. Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute (VMI) students, ride free upon presentation of a valid student ID card.

Roads: Buena Vista is served directly by U.S. Routes 501 and 60, and indirectly by U.S. Route 11. Interstates 64 and 81intersect just a few miles outside of the city and provide our businesses with direct access to the markets of middle America and the East Coast and residents and visitors will enjoy the easy access for both business and recreation.
Air: Commercial air service is available in Roanoke, Lynchburg and the Shenandoah Valley Airport in Weyers Cave.
Rail: Freight service is provided by CSX Transportation and Norfolk-Southern Railway.
Ports: Interstate-64 provides a direct route to the Port of Hampton Roads, the largest natural deep-water harbor in the world.
Motor Carriers: Several motor freight carriers serve Buena Vista and two freight carriers have terminals in the Rockbridge area.
