The following Public Hearing was advertised:

The City of Buena Vista will hold a public hearing on March 18, 2010 at or about 6:00 p.m. at the 2039 Sycamore Avenue Municipal Building Council Chambers, City of Buena Vista, VA 24416 to solicit public input on the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) proposal to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for our Dickinson Well Filtration System.  Residents of the project area are encouraged to attend.  The Dickinson Well Filtration System proposal will include the design and construction of a membrane filtration system, an upgrade of an existing sewage lift station, and the installation of sewer forcemain connecting these facilities and the City’s sanitary sewer system.

The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low-and moderate-income residents, to benefit from the proposed project, and plans to minimize displacement.  Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on the City of Buena Vista’s past use of CDBG funds.  A fact sheet on the proposed project and the draft proposal is available at 2039 Sycamore Avenue, Buena Vista, Virginia 24416.  For additional information, contact Mike Cosby at 261-1444.
